HQ’s Olly Webb presents at LYVA Labs’ Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Event

March 20, 2024

Hooper Quinn’s Chief Engineer Olly Webb presents to LYVA Labs’ 3rd Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Event at the Innovation Centre, Sci-Tech Daventry.

The latest event in LYVA Labs’ advanced manufacturing series focused on “Digitalisation in Manufacturing”, in particular the importance of digital adoption in design and manufacturing processes.

LYVA Labs is funded by the UK government's Launchpad programme set up to support the Liverpool City Region’s innovation network for advanced manufacturing and to run events that bring businesses together to connect and collaborate on a diversity of projects across the region.

Together with a tour of the VEC Hartree centre, showcasing how high-performance computing is driving change, innovation, and efficiency in manufacturing practices, the event welcomed speakers from the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), the Science & Technologies Facilities Coucil, Anekanta AI, and the VEC (Virtual Engineering Centre), with topics ranging from Simulation (FEA, CFD, CAD), Sensors and digital twins (VR, AR, Predicitive analysis, in-process monitoring), Post analysis (Deviation analysis, CMM), and AI regulation.

To an audience of industry professionals, researches, and advanced manufacturing experts from across the Liverpool City Region and the wider Advanced Manufacturing Network, Olly spoke on the integration of digital simulation into advanced manufacturing and the efficient use of FEA and Topology Optimisation to capitalize on DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering).

Hooper Quinn continue to work closely with LYVA Labs and look forward to opportunities to present at future events.
